Hi, I'm Erika.
As a classically trained pianist, vocalist, and teacher, I offer event music and piano lessons in Philadelphia, PA.
Most recently, I taught as a faculty member as Settlement Music School in Queen Village, Philadelphia. I've also been a piano teacher with the Germantown and Wynnewood branches of Settlement, as well as Music Training Center in Ardmore, PA.
Along the way, I've enjoyed teaching private lessons and group classes to children, high schoolers, and adults; I believe the piano can enrich anyone's life, from elementary school students to busy professionals.
I studied piano for 19 years and voice for 6 years before graduating with a master’s degree in piano pedagogy from Texas Christian University. There I studied with international performing artist Harold Martina and pedagogue Dr. Ann Gipson.
As a soprano, I grew up singing in church and school choirs, and in more recent years I've provided vocal and piano music for weddings and events.
If you're interested in private music lessons, lessons in your home, online lessons, or hiring me for an event, please get in touch!
Inquire About Lesson Availability
Searching for “Piano Lessons Near Me?”
Whether you’re coming from Center City, Fishtown, Rittenhouse, South Philly, Old City, or right here in Queen Village, you or your child are always welcome in my studio. There’s plenty of free parking on the block, and if you are bringing a child to piano lessons, you can hang out inside or on the patio and help yourself to our espresso and wifi. I teach kids, high schoolers, and adults, and I’m happy to work with beginner, intermediate, and advanced students.
Lessons In Queen Village, Philadelphia
Choose from 30, 45, or 60 minute time slots in my home studio on a 6’ Steinway grand piano. Lessons occur once per week (Sep. - May), with flexible scheduling available during the summer. Experience a well-rounded approach to repertoire, genres, technique, reading and ear training; the goal is to make you a complete, independent musician. I am also open to "partner lessons," in which two young students (similar in skill level) take a combined piano lesson.

Lessons Online via Skype
If you have a fast internet connection and access to a webcam, you can sign up for live online piano lessons. Traveling isn't possible for everyone; if in-home lessons aren't an option, we can accomplish just as much online via Skype. I use Zoom technology for recording and teaching online, so sound and/or video quality won't be an issue. If you're interested in online lessons, get in touch so we can set up a time to test your connection and video quality.
Lessons in Your Home
If you live within a reasonable distance, I can travel to you and offer in-home piano lessons. This option works especially well for home school students, co-ops, and those unable to travel. I can travel to any Philadelphia neighborhood; the additional travel fee will be assessed once we figure out the time and cost of travel and parking. This lesson option is available to students of high school age and below.

Book Your Event
When I’m not teaching Philadelphia piano lessons, you may find me collaborating with other musicians at local venues, accompanying instrumentalists and vocalists, or working on solo repertoire. If you’d like to hire me as a pianist or vocalist for your recital, competition, or event, I’d be happy to speak with you.
